Teaching Practices

Andrew Champlin has developed his teaching in tandem with a devoted performance practice, allowing the two to influence each other. He has worked with numerous choreographers who challenge him to develop choreographic elements, perfect, disrupt and improvise within a conceptual framework. He brings this inquisitive energy into his classes, questioning the expansiveness of technical objectivity, without limiting student’s desires to express something larger than their structures.
